Non Regulatory – Results of Case Study

 

Fitbug Holdings Plc (AIM: FITB), the AIM quoted digital wellness provider for corporate organisations, would like to share some insights and findings from a recent case study, following a pilot wellness programme with MTR Crossrail. The pilot was rolled out in collaboration with Olympic gold medallist Sally Gunnell, OBE, (the partnership which was announced in December 2016) to a select group of about 100 MTR Crossrail employees over a period of three months.

Of the group participating, 60% were headquarters staff, 20% were train drivers and 20% were station staff. The rate of uptake and engagement was high, with 94% of the eligible employees joining the programme.

As with its typical service offering, Fitbug gathered aggregate data about employee progress and compiled after-action reports. The report for the MTR Crossrail programme revealed some interesting findings when it came to their employee wellness and engagement:

·      Over the course of the programme, participants walked 72% more than the average person in the UK

·      Activity levels gradually increased from week one to week four

·      Some individuals improved their step activity by 177% over the course of the programme

·      60% of employees who participated in the post-programme survey thought that the programme had a positive impact on office morale

MTR Crossrail has shown a real commitment to the wellbeing of its employees by setting some valuable benchmarks during this pilot wellness programme.

Xeros Introduces Cleaning System for Firefighters' Personal Protective Equipment in USA

 

Xeros Technology Group plc (AIM: XSG, 'Xeros'), the developer and provider of patented polymer based systems with multiple commercial applications, has today launched a US-approved polymer cleaning solution for firefighters' personal protection equipment ('PPE'). 

 

The Xeros cleaning method is highly effective at removing harmful contaminants whilst also extending the life of expensive firefighting garments.

 

The Xeros system is fully compliant with the USA National Fire Protection Association 1851 standard for the cleaning of firefighter equipment. 

 

The PPE solution will be delivered as part of Xeros' existing Sbeadycare® service and is now available to the more than 58,000 fire stations in the USA. The system will also be used to clean high performance workwear and technical protective equipment in other markets including, amongst others, petroleum, mining, construction and military agencies.

Concepta signs technology transfer and licence agreement with Selective Antibodies to develop stress test for myLotus fertility product

 

Concepta plc (AIM:CPT), the UK healthcare company targeting the personalised mobile health market with a primary focus on women's fertility, is pleased to announce that it has signed a technology transfer and  licence agreement ("Agreement") with Selective Antibodies Ltd, a UK based diagnostics company ("Selective Antibodies"), for the development of a stress test. This is part of the Company's new product development for its proprietary myLotus home self-testing platform that helps women with unexplained infertility* to conceive.  This is in line with the strategy set out at the time of the Company's admission to AIM In 2016.

 

Under the Agreement, Concepta will, inter alia, be granted the rights to intellectual property ("IP") developed by Selective Antibodies, comprising licensed patents and associated knowhow, for the measurement of small molecules in bodily fluids.

 

The key terms of the Agreement include:

·     Cost – Concepta will pay Selective Antibodies for the development of the test and for technology transfer, plus a royalty based on sales of products developed using the IP. Work on the product development will start on 1st March 2017

·    Terms of agreement – subject to fulfilment of obligations on each party, up until the date 5 years beyond the expiry of the patents to which the IP relates

 

This will be used to expand Concepta's existing myLotus platform capabilities (which includes measurements of a woman's personal hCG and LH hormone levels), enabling users to also monitor stress through quantitative measurement of their levels of stress hormones of which cortisol is the key one. Stress is a common cause of several health conditions and is widely recognised as a key factor, which can significantly impact both male and female fertility factors.

We look forward to updating the market further on this progress and, with ISO13485 accreditation in place, we continue to prepare for the commercial launch of myLotus in the UK and Europe towards the end of the year."
